The inspiration for this blog was spawned out of an unlawful marriage of raw optimism and reality — not necessarily of the harshest degree: I’m a 22-year old college graduate, living back at home with no job (in case the title didn’t tip you off).  I traded a pseudo-rock star lifestyle in Atlanta, GA for an unspecified period of time living with mom, dad, a big-little sister, and a cantankerous grandmother in Greensboro, NC.

“Direct from: The Unemployment Office” is put in place to detail my weekly findings, daily comings and goings, job searches, quotes from my foul-mouthed family members, and all that’s in between.

What happens when I get a job or go off to continue my education?  Fortunately, I haven’t thought that far ahead.  For now, let’s just enjoy the rarity (or abundance) of these moments.
